The game about ghosts will be available for PS4 and PS5 on November 30, Switch on December 1, and Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S “shortly after.”
The role-playing game with a paper look has been out for Windows PC (via Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store, and the Humble Store).
Here’s how the game works:
The Ghost on the Way Out
The Outbound Ghost is an adventure role-playing game in which you help ghosts get to the next world. The town of Outbound is literally a ghost town. It is filled with troubled ghosts who haven’t dealt with their problems on earth, so they have to spend all of eternity haunting their old haunts.
Fight the past, learn new skills, solve puzzles, and find out what’s going on in Outbound to help the dead people there find peace and get out of their ghostly limbo.
What Happens
In The Outbound Ghost’s world, ghosts are what regret looks like. Most people go to the afterlife when they die, but unhappy people become ghosts and have to haunt the Earth until they make up for their mistakes. This isn’t always possible, though, because doing this as a ghost is a million times harder than when you’re a human. But some people are able to do this and spend the rest of their lives after death in the afterlife. In The Outbound Ghost, your job is to help other people fix or accept their past lives so they can enjoy eternal happiness. You have to do the same for yourself, but it’s hard to fix mistakes from a past life when you don’t remember them.
